This is not a familiar site to most people and certainly not a welcomed site to those involved but here is the view of my parents front yard today thanks to Issac. This picture was taken at 9:45 this morning and the storm is still not on land. The water will continue to rise....
To quote Anna Grace when she saw the picture, "God, help the hurricane go 15 up so it can hurry down. Amen." The un-cryptic version of the prayer is, "Lord, help the storm pick up speed to at least 15 mph so there is not so much flooding and destruction in its path."
My parents have evacuated...only to my Grandmother's house a few miles away but her house is more protected from the water. They will not know until the storm is completely past and the water has receded what they will come home too. Crazy. Neal says we will never live down there for this very reason...hurricanes. (Editor's Note: I don't think I said this.) He generally thinks my family is very normal except for their willingness to put up with hurricane season (specifically every June 1st until November 30th). What else can I say...It's home.
Oh, yeah, there is one other reason he is not willing (without Divine intervention) to move to Gulfport, Mississippi....It is too far from Auburn!
