Hudson's Thought Process

As I was tucking the boys in bed tonight Hudson had a question to ask...

Hudson:  "When we grow up can there be more babies?" {He had already asked before prayer time if I was going to grow another baby in my tummy.

Me:  "Sure!  When you grow up you can get married and have babies."

Hudson:  "But that means I will have to sleep with her."

Me:  "Yes.  You will sleep in the bed with your wife and your baby will sleep in his own room."

Hudson:  "Well then I sure hope I like her!"

Art Camp 2015 (Part 2)

It is now Dean and Anna Grace's turn to share their experience and art.

Dean

Floral Beach

Thoughts regarding this masterpiece and how he accomplished it:
"I painted the clouds then the sky then the lower darker sky.  Then I painted the mountains then the hill with with the house on it.  And I made water and then sand and then seashells."

Animal Owl

Thoughts regarding this masterpiece and how he accomplished it: "First I used a Sharpie and I made details to the owl.  Then I used marker and went over the owl in all types of color.  And then I used water to make it look like water paint.  And then I painted the sky."

Fox on a Boat
(canvas)

Thoughts regarding this masterpiece and how he accomplished it: "First I painted the sea.  Second I painted the sky.  Then I painted the fox; then the boat.  Then I painted the sail.  Then I painted the flag.  Then I painted the fish.  Lastly I put my name on the boat."

Birdhouse - Dean's is the third

Thoughts regarding this masterpiece and how he accomplished it:
"All I did was paint.  I had to paint it a certain way but I could do any color paint I wanted.  My favorite part was that we used special paint."

Dean what did you think about art camp this year?  "Art camp was fun this year.  Mrs. Belinda was good.  The best part is that it was fun."

Anna Grace

Little Fishy

Thoughts regarding this masterpiece and how he accomplished it: "This is a pastel.  First Mrs. Belinda made the fish shape then really I just made up a color on a piece of paper and put it on my picture.  Mrs. Belinda inspected it and then she told me things that I needed to add in it.  When she was done doing that I did it.  Then  I was done with my picture."

Stained-Glass Cross

Thoughts regarding this masterpiece and how he accomplished it:
"First I wrinkled my paper all up.  Then I used a Sharpie and traced all of the wrinkle spots on my paper.  Then I used colorful markers and colored the spots.  Then I used the same dark Sharpie and drew the cross.  Then I was done."

Woodland River
(canvas)

Thoughts regarding this masterpiece and how he accomplished it: "First Mrs. Belinda drew the land.  Then I painted the sky and water.  I added clouds to the sky.  The next day I came in drew my tree trunks.  At the end of the day I painted the trees.  Then I drew branches in the trees and did the grass and sand on the land.  Then I was done."

Anna Grace tell me why you enjoyed this year's art camp.  "I liked art camp this year because I was in 4th-6th grade art class and I did things different than the younger kids.  It was very fun and Mrs. Belinda was fun as well and gave me a lot of good tips.  The best part was seeing Amy because I haven't seen her in a long time."

Art Camp 2015 (Part 1)

I know it has been a year since I put anything on here but....

We completed another year of art camp and it was a highlight of our summer.  Caleb and Hudson went first so their work comes first.

CALEB

Ant Pie

Thoughts regarding this masterpiece and how he accomplished it:
"First I painted the yellow.  Second I painted the crust.  Then I painted the red thing at the bottom of the crust [that would be the pie pan I think].  Then I painted the sky and then the fire that is on top.  Then I glued on the ant.  Then I made the dots."

Red Bird House
(canvas)

Thoughts regarding this masterpiece and how he accomplished it:
"First I painted the tree branch and then I painted the bird, then the house, then leaves and then clouds.  After that I was done.  The tree branch was the hardest part.  The bird was the most fun part to paint."

Birdhouse - Caleb's is in the middle

Thoughts regarding this masterpiece and how he accomplished it:
"I painted the roof first then all around it and then i was done."

Over all, Caleb, what did you think about art camp this year?  "There was only one boy other than me but we had fun.  I am glad I went.  I don't love Mrs. Belinda but I like her, just a little."

HUDSON

Nightlight Flier
Thoughts regarding this masterpiece and how he accomplished it:
"First I painted the fireflies, light and then the lid of the jar.  Then I painted the jar. Last I painted the night.  It was not hard it was only fun."

Mr. Crabby
(canvas)

Thoughts regarding this masterpiece and how he accomplished it:
"I painted the crab then all the dots on the crab and the purple on the crab.  The next day I painted the sea with all of those dots.  The dots that is the sea.  The sea was kind of hard because I couldn't get it on the crab."

Birdhouse - Hudson's is the first

Thoughts regarding this masterpiece and how he accomplished it:
"On the last day I painted the house and nothing else.  Oh yes I painted the roof.  And my regular teacher, Mrs. Belinda but there is two more teachers, said I needed to do a little more.  I didn't paint all of the wood because I didn't want too.  This makes it look a little old."

Hudson what did you think of art camp this year?  "The best part of art camp is painting.  I like Mrs. Belinda.  I like to paint with her and I like to play.  I want to go to art camp next year.  I hope Mrs. Belinda is going to be there."
